Ferry rides are the best. When I was younger, my grandparents lived on an Island off the coast of BC, and we would
often take the ferry to visit them. We would all bundle in the car and wait at the terminal, and when it was our turn to
drive onto the boat, my dad would let one of us (kids) sit on his lap and "drive" on to the Ferry.
(Probably not something that would fly these days, but we loved it.)
Once on the boat, my most prevalent memory was getting red strawberry jello from the cafeteria. For me, jello and
ferrys go hand in hand, and its difficult for me to separate the two. It was just such a marvelous combination.
Mark and I made a little trip out to Mayne Island last weekend to help his brother propose to his girlfriend.
The morning sail to the Island was just beautiful. It was so warm and the colors in the sky were breathtaking enough
to get most people out onto the decks.
It was a great spontaneous trip, and any excuse to ride the ferry is a done deal in my books. I have posted
photos from Matthew & Rachelle's engagement on my photography blog. If you'd like to see them, click here!
